Google has launched its Chromecast media streaming dongle in Japan today. The announcement comes just two weeks after the device landed in South Korea, which was its first market in Asia.
The device costs 4,200 yen (just over US$40) and will be available from the Google Play store, Amazon and selected retailers from tomorrow.

As is the case in other countries, Chromecast can be used to stream content to TVs from iOS, Android, Mac and Windows devices.

The device first went on sale in the US last July, before it rolled out to Canada and nine European countries this March. Australia is tipped to be next on Google’s launch schedule.
