Eventbrite issues its 50 millionth ticket as it gears up for international expansion

Self-service ticketing platform Eventbrite is announcing today that it has issued its 50 millionth ticket.

The company, which offers a one-stop platform for event organisers to promote their offerings and to sell tickets, has seen impressive growth of late. As we’ve previously reported, it the number of events posted to its service doubled between 2010 and 2011, going from 222,353 to 458,207. The number of tickets issued doubled too, going from 11,004,743 in 2010 to 20,798,509 in 2011.

Eventbrite launched in 2006, and raised a $50 million funding round in May last year to fuel international expansion.

With such growth and a handy milestone under its belt, the San Francisco company is targeting the non-English-speaking world this year. French-speaking Canada, France and Spain will be the first to be targeted as part of an internationalization program run from its London office, which opened in late 2011.
