Apple has today confirmed that the iTunes Store has launched in Brazil and Latin America at large. We had reported earlier that Brazil had gotten the iTunes Music Store and iTunes Match services, and then it later became apparent that Latin America at-large was getting it as well.
The countries that are confirmed to have access to the iTunes Store are Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela. For more information on what content these countries will be getting and what content is available only in Brazil, check out those posts linked above.
Brazil is the only country that is getting the cloud music locker service iTunes Match, although the other Latin American countries are getting iTunes in the Cloud, which allows them to re-download purchases as many times as they like from the iTunes cloud.
If you’re a Brazilian reader that is excited to try out the iTunes Match service, we encourage you to check out our Complete Guide to iTunes Match here and our instructions on how to perform a one-time upgrade of your song quality here. If you’re in one of the other Latin American countries, check out our Guide to iCloud for the lowdown on iTunes in the Cloud.
