The New York Times releases a Google Glass app that reads article summaries aloud

The New York Times has launched a custom Google Glass app with a read-aloud feature for article summaries.

Google began shipping the first Glass prototypes to developers earlier this month, so the Times’ high-tech eyewear audience is still going to be fairly limited.

The app offers breaking news alerts, hourly top news updates and spoken article summaries.

In addition to the Times, Evernote, Path and Twitter have also been outed as some of the developers working on early adopter software for the new platform. Google published the documentation for its Mirror API last week.

If you’re one of the lucky ones who’s testing Glass, you can get the NYT app here.
