rose noteThere was chatter this weekend of Samsung’s plans to introduce new colors for the Galaxy Note 3, and today the Korean firm revealed it will indeed expand the device’s color palette with the addition of ‘rose gold white’ and ‘rose gold black accents,’ and a ‘merlot red’ option.

Samsung has already made its flagship Galaxy S4 available in gold (while emphasizing its history of gold phones), but this is a subtle, arguably more refined design which sees the metallic rims given unique — and extravagantly-named — colors.

Apple’s decision to release its latest iPhones in new colors has given greater emphasis to marketing smartphones via unique colors, but at least Samsung didn’t just cover the Note in gold (hello HTC).
