Pocket updates its iOS app, improves sharing via Evernote, Twitter and Tweetbot

Pocket updates its iOS app, improves sharing via Evernote, Twitter and Tweetbot

One day after udpating its Mac app, read-it-later platform Pocket is now bringing similar changes to iOS, the company announced today on its blog.

In addition to a few technical fixes, Pocket has improved its sharing features, and now makes it easier use it in parallel to Evernote, Twitter and Tweetbot. Here are its novelties, as listed in the App Store:

★ Improvements to Evernote sharing, including notebook selection, preservation of tags, comments, and option to include the full article
★ Sharing to Evernote now supports the 印象笔记 service in China
★ Tweet Attribution redesigned, with support for replying, favoriting, retweeting, opening a tweet in Safari, and opening a person’s Twitter profile in Safari
★ Share to Tweetbot

Some of its bug fixes are also related to sharing; according to the company, it has corrected issues that appeared when logging in to Pinboard and Delicious.

It’s interesting to see that Pocket is working on making its platform compatible with other apps such as Evernote, rather than considering them as direct competitors it should ignore. This strategy makes Pocket more relevant, and could help it become its users’ go-to destination when it comes to archiving news.
