There’s good news for Android device owners who like to personalize their Internet experience after Skyfire, the company bought by Opera for $155 million, released an international version of its Horizon mobile browser extension.
Horizon is a toolbar which can be added to Android mobile browsers to give shortcuts to a range of services, in particular social networks.
That means more convenience for users but, for operators, that’s also a chance to pre-load featured content, ads, customer care links or other items into a user’s browser.
Skyfire says that Horizon is now being used by “two tier 1, US-based operators,” and this new release (version 7.0) will let overseas operators follow suit if they wish.
