More choice for wireless noise: Sonos HiFi System owners can now stream music via 7digital

Proud owners of Sonos‘ rather gorgeous wireless HiFi systems were already able to stream music from a variety of cloud-based services, including Spotify, Rdio, MOG, Pandora and Deezer, but the start of the new year brings even more goodies.

Open digital music platform company 7digital today announced a partnership with Sonos that will allow streaming of digital music tracks and albums through the latter’s range of HiFi systems.

The service is available in a bunch of European countries, including Germany, UK, France and Spain, as well as the United States. According to 7digital, support for additional territories is ‘on the horizon’.

All music that was purchased through 7digital’s Web store or mobile apps can automatically be synced with a user’s cloud locker, enabling him or her to instantly stream tracks and albums on any Sonos system.

7digital claims a catalogue of over 22 million tracks.

Sonos says it isn’t done partnering with content providers just yet, either. In fact, Kristen Bender, Senior Product Manager, Music for Sonos says the company strives to stream “all the music on earth in the format a customer wants”.

For 7digital, the news follows on the heels of other announcements related to partnerships with connected device manufacturers.

Today, 7digital music apps are available on smartphones and tablets from Samsung, RIM and HTC, Windows Phone mobiles, Windows 8 desktops, laptops and tablets, TVs and Pioneer in-car stereos.
