LG has announced a new member for its G Pro range in the form of the G Pro Lite, which looks to be a mid-range handset running a customized version of Android.

The device will have a 5.5-inch display (although the resolution is just 960 x 540 pixels) and will offer a large capacity 3,140 mAh battery. It, like the rival Samsung Note series, will also feature a ‘Stylus Pen’ input for handwriting and the more fiddly tasks on a mobile.

Other key specs include a 1Ghz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera and dual stereo speakers. It will also feature customized software tweaks, like KnockOn, which allows users to awake the device with two taps on the screen, Pause and Resume recording for capturing short video snippets and QTranslator for on-the-fly language translation.

The device will launch first in Latin America this month, and will be followed by rollouts across Asia, Russia, China, India and the Middle East. There’s no word on it heading to Europe or the US though, as yet.
