Foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley just sent out a tweet saying that the location startup has recorded 185 million check-ins since it started. Even more impressive is this number he shared: in May the social location service “only” had 40 million check-ins, meaning its users have checked-in 145 million times in just four months.
As we said yesterday, it’s been a pretty good week for Foursquare – and with the startup’s new iPhone app and new strategy of an “Add to My Foursquare” button (and hopefully a browser side extension some day too) we expect this number to keep on climbing, unless the check-ins hit the proverbial Facebook Places check-in wall.
