Amazon’s LoveFilm has announced the new version of its streaming app for connected devices is arriving for Nintendo Wii users in the UK today.

The arrival brings a host of new updates and features – including an improved search function, recommendation engine, and user interface, as well as the Watchlist feature which is already available on other platforms.

Indeed, today’s update mirrors what was rolled out to the Web-based version of the app last year, when LoveFilm announced it was getting a search makeover, before adding the Watchlist feature similar to what already exists on Netflix. This update was also added for PS3 users in May.

With Watchlists, users can create an unlimited streaming playlist, and will be synced across devices which is particularly useful for those who like to watch on their tablets, laptops and consoles. Wii users will now see a new homepage that displays any content that’s been started but not finished, including the last location reached in that particular video.

The new LoveFilm streaming app is available to download from the Wii Shop Channel from today.
