Google rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets

Google has announced that its Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets are getting Android 4.4 KitKat today. The company said Nexus 4 and the cellular version of the Nexus 7 will get the update “soon.”

Android 4.4 first arrived late last month with the Nexus 5. The rest of the Nexus lineup will receive the update first, followed by third-party manufacturers. HTC and Google’s own Motorola have been quick to promise KitKat updates for their products.

Google touts KitKat as a “smarter, more immersive” experience with a revamped messaging interface, a built-in pedometer, improved multitasking and “full-bleed UIs” for apps.
