Interaction design firm ZURB acquires Pattern Tap, a website for design inspiration

Interaction design firm ZURB acquires Pattern Tap, a website for design inspiration

ZURB, a well-known interaction design firm with big name clients and an amazing suite of apps that make the design process easier, has just acquired Pattern Tap, a website for design inspiration and design examples. The site, which was originally created by Matthew Smith, the Creative Director at Zaarly, will be integrated into ZURB’s content section, the ZURBexpo.

Pattern Tap users, however, wont need to fret about the acquisition, as the site will remain on its own domain. Also, our bet is that the site is in good hands, as ZURB is known for its way of sharing with the design community.

From ZURB:

Pattern Tap, with a focus on crowdsourced ideas and a resourceful design database, will help us continue to drive our mission forward of helping people design for people. At ZURB, we’re huge advocates for design literacy: The idea that everyone — not just designers — should understand basic product design fundamentals and the value it can drive for a business.

In the future, we plan to add additional site functionality to help designers design faster and better. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like a quote from Bryan, our Chief Instigator, on the acquisition.

We’ve written about ZURB’s Playground, which is like a candy store for designers. We covered Bounce, an interactive screenshot where you can highlight areas and leave notes. We’ve written about ClueVerifyStrikeNotableReelSpur, Axe and Solidify. As you can see, this team is a god damned powerhouse, and we love them for it. Check out ZURBexpo and Pattern Tap for more.
