In basic terms, your goal in Pandemic is to stop the spread of diseases, then eradicate them. You play as a specific disease-control expert (like a medic or scientist), each of which has a special talent. You then travel across the world in an attempt to stamp-out a range of infections. That premise by itself is pretty awesome, right?

The thing I adore most about Pandemic though is that it’s a co-op title. While competitiveness is a core part of board gaming, there are plenty of times I’d rather work with my friends, rather than attempting to ruthlessly crush them. Yes, there are few things better than gloating over the curled up, crying body of a loved one, but sometimes I just wanna relax a bit, y’know?

A session of Pandemic takes about an hour and the rules are really easy to pick up. Plus, it’s a boatload of fun – it’s one of those games I keep coming back to.
