Welcome to CHEAP, our brand-new series about things that are good, but most of all, cheap. CHEAP!
Yes, this is my hype. The Lenovo Smart Display (with, of course, Google Assistant) is on offer for only $99.99 – in other words, HALF PRICE! Fast, go get it!
I have this exact device and, well, I’m sorry to say it makes me pretty happy. Look, I never thought I’d be into voice-activated assistants, but, lord, I was wrong. Maybe it’s the screen? On second thought, it’s definitely the screen – it adds an extra little something to the experience.
So, what can you do with the Lenovo Smart Display? A lot of stuff, really. Setting alarms, checking the weather, watching videos, or even using it as a controller for your smart home devices. Basically, it’s like a tablet, crossed with a voice-activated assistant.
One of the Lenovo Smart Display‘s features I like the most though is its digital photo frame function. Point it to a Google Photos folder, and it’ll cycle through the images when not in use. It’s been lovely seeing a lot of old photos pop up.
To the privacy-folks: yeah, the Lenovo Smart Display has a camera and microphone – but each of these have a physical switch you can use to turn them off. I’m a big fan of this option.

Anyway, for only $99.99, this is one hell of a deal. If you’ve considered dipping your toes in the smart device world – or want an extra bit of kit to spice up your set-up – the Lenovo Smart Display is a great buy. Grab one here.
