It’s Amazon Prime Day, the big old discount extravaganza which the company was talking up as a new Black Friday and…so far, it kinda sucks. That’s according to scores of people on Twitter and beyond who are moaning about the meagre offerings.
@amazon great job on this #primeday sale. Did you guys decide to clean out your junk drawer? I'll just go to the dollar store instead.

So far #primeday seems like 'get rid of junk nobody wants' day.

#PrimeDay: The yard sale on the internet. Just take lap at the stuff people don't want anymore and leave. pic.twitter.com/IPHU24VMBl

LOL #PrimeDay is so trash man. Had me hyped up to buy a TV. All the sales are on paper towels & headphones.

$1 off a "deal of the day"? Come on Amazon you can do better than that #PrimeDay fail pic.twitter.com/6ZvHVyFkqa

I'm scrolling through seeing socks, cheap necklaces, phone cases and cowboy boots…o__O #PrimeDay

And the complaints go on and on. While Amazon may drop some cool deals later in the day, it’s a clear case of forgetting the maxim ‘under-promise, over-deliver.’
Still, great news if you were in the market for a huge barrel of lube:
