Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has confirmed an executive leadership shuffle, with the appointment of Ali Rowghani as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer and Mike Gupta as CFO.
Congratulations to @rowghani on his new role as COO and to @mgupta on his new role as CFO.

As first noted by AllThingsD, Rowghani’s new role is largely a title change, since his former role as CFO included a range of operations responsibilities as well. Prior to joining Twitter in 2010, he served as the CFO at Pixar.
Gupta comes to Twitter from Zynga, where he served as Treasurer. Interestingly, it looks like he just got around to setting up his own Twitter account. I guess now’s as good a time as any.
Meanwhile, Twitter’s VP of Growth, Othman Laraki, announced on Wednesday he is stepping down from his role.
In November, Twitter brought on former Google VP and Deputy General Counsel Nicole Wong to its legal team. It also hired away another executive from Google in the Asia region, bringing Aliza Knox on board in Singapore.
With all these recent executive hires, Twitter certainly looks to be lining up its ducks for an eventual IPO. Gupta, for instance, brings with him experience in helping take a company public. He joined Zynga last May in the run-up to its IPO in December 2011.
