TNW2019 Daily: How to get your boss to buy tickets for your whole team

TNW2019 Daily: How to get your boss to buy tickets for your whole team

There’s only 57 days left until our tech conference! A few days ago, my daily newsletter explained how you can get your boss to buy your TNW2019 ticket. I’m not satisfied, however, because you don’t deserve to go alone. Everything is so much more fun when you have people to share it with, so in today’s TNW2019 Daily, I’ll show you how to get your boss to buy tickets for your entire team. Manipulation is an art form, so please pay close attention to the master (that would be me – I once convinced my boss to hire me, so clearly I know what I’m doing).

The gang’s all here

Firstly, I’d like to point out that it takes some serious guts to mooch off of your boss and then go back to ask for even more. Kudos to you, but also, have no fear because it won’t be hard to convince them a second time. There are so many reasons why bringing your entire team to TNW2019 is a great idea, so here’s how to pull it off:

Step 1: Name drop ’til you drop

Go on the offensive immediately and bring out the big guns. Tell your boss that if they want to be like Nike, ABN AMRO, and Netflix, then they should buy your whole team tickets to TNW2019 – because these respectable companies have brought their teams in the past. They’ll be so starstruck, they won’t even know what hit ’em.

Step 2: Get creative

Solidify your point with multimedia, especially if your boss is a “visual learner.” Our CEO Boris recently visited the headquarters of popular cosmetics brand Lush. Together with their CDO, Jack Constantine, they made bath bombs and talked about the future of tech. Jack brings his entire team to TNW Conference every year without fail. It’s a fun watch:

Step 3: Do the math

Explain that the more people you bring to TNW2019, the more money your boss will save. Our group deals are pretty rad, so just start shouting out numbers until their head hurts and they acquiesce to your demands.

See? Easy.

Speaker spotlight: Chris Messina

Did you know? #The #hashtag #was #invented #by #Chris #Messina! That’s pretty #cool.

Back in 2007, Chris proposed a way of grouping messages for important events on Twitter… and thus, the hashtag was born. He has a wealth of experience in product design – a few years back, he was the Developer Experience Lead at Uber.

Since then, Chris has designed some really cool products. He recently founded and launched Molly, a personal bot. It lets people ask questions about you and then scans your social media profiles to try and answer them – when Molly can’t, you answer the question yourself.

His passion for social media and product design have merged to create something new and unique. If you’re curious to learn more, Chris’ talk is a must-see.

And that concludes today’s #TNW2019 Daily! See you tomorrow for another, and make sure to catch up on past editions right here.
