The new Snooth integration turns Facebook into a wine-tasting party

In case you haven’t yet heard of Facebook’s epic Timeline feature that’s turning your social network into a living, breathing autobiography, click here. Yesterday, Facebook introduced Lifestyle apps, which can be added to your personal timeline, and removed, in a way that allows them to display relevant information that you think that highlights your ‘personal story.’

Let’s say you’re using Nike+ in your Timeline to track your runs or Foodspotting to track your meals. The apps will keep track of everything you do and your friends can participate too. But what is the point of sharing your daily workouts and meals, if you can’t also share your indulgence in finer wines to everyone you know?

As part of Facebook’s f8 announcement, Snooth, the world’s largest wine site, founded by Lot 18’s Philip James, will be part of the first wave of Lifestyle apps to hit Facebook in the coming weeks. This integration means you’ll soon be able to tell your friends what wine you’re drinking.

“We’re announcing a new way for people to connect around tasting wines and discovering new wines with their friends on Facebook,” said Rich Tomko, CEO, Snooth Media.

In general, it will say (name) is tasting (wine) on Snooth. It will also integrate with Wine Rack, one of Snooth’s products that rewards users for site interactions. Check out an exclusive screen shot below:
