Send Cool Push Invitations with iVite

Send Cool Push Invitations with iVite

iVite from INOV8 is the first app for iDevices that allow users to share calendar events from app to app. Instead of plain old email invites, iVite delivers event notifications by push messages. This way, you won’t lose the invite in an unread, spam filled inbox.

The usefulness of iVite is two fold. You can sync all push invites received to your calender and share existing events from the calender. After a quick sign up, you can start adding friends to your address book ( or vice versa). The key is to submit the telephone number of your friend and surprisingly, fake numbers work fine too!

iVite has a colorful interface. While I am not a big fan of bright red color, the app pulls it off without much effort. Sharing events cannot be more easy. All scheduled events from the iOS calender app are displayed in their chronological order. To my delight, I found that you can send invites to multiple events in one go, by just checking them all.

Apart from adding events from an existing calender, iVite also lets you create events on the fly too. The features available in event creation screen are pretty much the same as in any calender app, complete with alerts.

Once you receive a push invite, you will be taken to the event details screen. You can check your availability right away and send a response immediately. Your responses are sent as a push notification too.

There was a slight delay at first when we were adding friends to the contact list. But the event notifications arrived almost immediately. Another perk of using iVite is one can hardly ignore or deny receiving an invite, thanks to the Push technology!

We had a blast trying out the app here at TNW. Check out the Chimpanzee tea party planned by our very own Martin Bryant!

iVite costs $1.99 in the App Store. If you still aren’t convinced, take their free app for a spin.

We have 13 promo codes to give away. To get your hands on one, follow @TheNextWeb on Twitter. Leave your Twitter name in the comments. The first 13 people to do so will be DMed with their code.
