Readability, the popular ‘read-it-later’ service that first came to the iPhone and iPad two years ago, has been redesigned for iOS 7 and introduced its new social sharing feature called Recommendations to the iOS app.
The app’s new design is flatter and more simplistic, in keeping with the hallmarks of Apple’s newest platform, while there are a few new gestures for navigation. Users can toggle between three different fonts — Sentinel, Whitney and Mercury — and there is a standard white design and darker ‘night’ theme to choose from.
Recommendations is the service’s new way to share content, replacing the Top Reads section. Initially rolled out to the Web version last year, it allows users to share content with those who follow them on the service, while also posting a comment about it, in the same way that people share links on social networks.
