From twenty-five, down to one, it’s been three days of hectic presentations and a few standout products at TechCrunch Disrupt: San Francisco. When it all came down, three products stood out from the rest of the finalists, but all 7 finalists were strong:
Of these, the ones that really caught attention among the rumoring crowd were Badgeville, CloudFlare and DataSift. In the end, however, there of course could be only one. Qwiki was named the winner after 90 minutes of deliberation from the judging panel.
Qwiki, is a service that strings together content from across Wikipedia, and then presents that content with a narrated, fully-interactive movie format. We’re promised that, eventually, Qwiki will come to its full potential of being a service that can scan your social media services and even your email to take on a virtual assistant sort of role that will keep you up to date as you’re on the move.
Qwiki will take home $50,000 plus months of huge attention worldwide. Last year’s winner, Soluto, has seen exponential growth and surely Qwiki will as well. Our congratulations to the service, and best wishes for the future.
