Finally tired of taking selfies? Good for you! Only now, you’re probably wondering what you should shoot instead. OKDOTHIS for Android offers suggestions for photos you can take daily and share with its community.
The app has been around since 2014 on iOS and has just launched in beta on Android — so you’ll find loads of users to interact with.
Once you sign up, you can participate in the daily ‘do’ — a simple challenge in the form of a theme like ‘Trees in Winter’ or something more specific like ‘Book covers’.
You can also create your own dos, browse other dos by category and view submissions from the community by searching for terms or scrolling through your home feed.
The premise of the app is pretty clever, as it not only gives you an interesting subject to shoot each day, but also makes your photo part of a group effort to capture the meaning behind the daily ‘do’.
However, it’s worth noting that the Android app is still in beta and rough around the edges. It currently doesn’t include the editing tools that its iOS counterpart has. The interface also needs work: there isn’t an obvious way to find dos when you first login and some visual elements, like the photo submission screen, aren’t fully skinned yet.
Still, if you’ve been looking for a more interesting subject to take pictures of than your own face, OKDOTHIS is just the thing.
