Group organizing service Meetup today announced the general availability of its Chip In contribution button for all group and event pages in the US across desktop and mobile devices. The company also plans to offer the option to international groups soon.
By making it easier for groups to crowdfund their expenses, Meetup is hoping to improve the overall quality of the events on its platform. The Chip In button allows organizers to remind members that good meetups cost money to put on without having to resort to a potentially off-putting direct request for funds.
