RecruitLoop is an Australian startup with an app in beta that allows you to manage the whole recruiting process online.
RecruitLoop allows businesses to post the details of roles they need to fill, which kicks off the first step of the process — selecting a recruiter. Interested recruiters will respond and you’ll be able to compare their experience and feedback to choose the one most suited to your needs.
One of the draws of the system for businesses is that recruiters are verified and handpicked by those behind RecruitLoop. Budding recruiters might not be such a big fan of this system, but it keeps the quality high and the noise low.
Your recruiter will get started looking for candidates and you’ll receive a shortlist of profiles. You can then comment on these, rate them and share them with colleagues who can also provide feedback before deciding which candidates to interview.
After narrowing down the shortlist you can even have video interviews submitted and have your candidates take tests to explore their knowledge and skills further.
RecruitLoop essentially makes every step of the hiring process up to the first in-person interview itself an absolute breeze.
After you’ve hired a candidate, all you need to do is pay your recruiter (an hourly rate, no fees or commissions) and leave feedback for that recruiter in the style of Freelancer.com, or for those of you less familiar with apps in this field, like eBay.
While RecruitLoop is still lying low as it works on the platform, they’ve got a working network for Australian businesses: 12 recruiters in Sydney, and currently working on tripling that number with more recruiters from Melbourne and Brisbane. They’ve matched up over 25 employers with candidates since the private beta began several weeks ago, saving users tens of thousands in recruiting agencies by this stage.
Given that recruitment agencies charge upwards of $15,000 per placement, that’s not surprising. RecruitLoop projects tend to cost between $800 and $2,000, founder Michael Overell tells me.
Overell, who in addition to co-founding RecruitLoop is also its CEO, is part of a team of three founders working on RecruitLoop, including Denis Zubkov who is the head of product and Garry Visontay, the chairman.
The company is doing something pretty unique — RecruitLoop’s closest competitor isn’t all that close. Recruiterbox is used by businesses who want to manage the whole recruiting process themselves, without the assistance of an experienced recruiter.
It’ll be interesting to see how RecruitLoop does as it prepares to open its product up. The Australian startup scene has really been picking up of late with foreign investment interest, and local investment has become more common too, for example in DesignCrowd.
