We already knew that Sony was bringing Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed ‘The Last of Us’ game to PlayStation 4 this summer, but today we have a firm release date: July 29, 2014.
Players will be able replay the adventures of Joel and Ellie – or for the first time, if they missed out on the game’s original release for the PlayStation 3. Developed by the same studio behind the popular Uncharted franchise, The Last of Us won a dizzying number of industry awards last year and is considered by some to be one of the best video games ever made.
The PlayStation 4 remaster will come with higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, and a whole host of other improvements. The game will also ship with the ‘Left Behind’ DLC pack and an exclusive director’s commentary by creative director and writer Neil Druckman, as well as the voice actors for Joel (Troy Baker) and Ellie (Ashley Johnson).
