I awoke this morning to a Twitter stream filled with nothing but wanton babble about some odd game called “Civilization 5.” I turned my attentions to the internet and low and behold, this is the very day the game is launching.
Never heard of Civilization? It is a massively popular series of titles that has a quasi cult-like following. The games are excellent (so I am told), and this new installment is supposed to be the best yet. To put it in perspective, this is how thousands across the US feel:
In other words, take this post as your warning: expect a few people who you know and love to be a little scarce over the next few weeks. Don’t even try to call, they are too busy taking over the world. Now, if you will excuse me, I am off to reformat my iPad. I will be unreachable until tomorrow, please leave a message.
