Known for breaking new ground and experimenting with the boundaries the web, music startup 22tracks is now taking up residence in the UK with a London-focused site.
The award-winning company, started in Amsterdam in 2009 and has quickly developed its online presence and mobile services allow users to curate an exciting and eclectic mix of music provided by specialised DJs.
In 2010 22tracks moved way ahead of the online media pack and launched with 22videos, the company’s on-demand video streaming service, launched at The Next Web Conference that year.
The site already has a strong European audience, drawing around 50,000 daily listeners and has sponsored creative collaborations with many major brands and festivals. On Facebook it’s among the largest Dutch brands.
22tracks presents a clean interface with the tracks you want to hear and as each one is streamed, a compact profile appears complete with a mini biography of the artist and links to their home pages and how to follow them on social media.

According to 22tracks, after launching in Brussels in the summer of 2011, it’s time to conquer the rest of Europe.
30 DJs have been chosen to highlight new music and mixed from the UK capital. They will be familiar to some as you can hear them on radio stations like the BBC, Rinse FM and Kiss FM. Others can be found playing to the crowds in the London club scene.
22tracks is also specifically tailored by genre to cater to the diverse tastes of the city; in addition the site’s special attention to electronic and alternative genres, 22tracks London will also include playlists that focus on African, Asian and Caribbean music.
Expect to hear Roska, Plastician, Robbo Ranx, Edu, DJ Pioneer, Standard Place, Elijah & Skilliam, the Panjabi Hit Squad and Boiler Room’s Thristian all teaming up to show you what’s happening in the world of music
