Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has continued to build on its success, posting a 95% rise in profit over the third quarter of 2010 totalling T$11.1 billion ($360 million).
HTC’s rise in profits has been helped by an ever growing demand for smartphones but also by its new handsets which have ensured that the company is well placed to meet the needs of consumers.
Last year, HTC posted a profit of T$5.695 billion with today’s results exceeding forecasts by over T$3 billion. The company recorded sales of T$27.1 billion in September, doubling sales from the previous year.
HTC are set to launch a range of new Android phones within the next two weeks; the HTC Desire HD and the Desire Z. The release of the two high-powered Android smartphones, coupled with the imminent launch of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 operating system, an OS that HTC are supporting on its handsets, could enable the company to post a hugely successful last quarter as the holiday season starts to draw nearer.
