Google Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), the company’s effort to help publishers speed up their sites, has gone live today with the company quietly beginning to show results in searches.

The AMP project is Google’s version of Facebook’s Instant Articles. The company created a specification that publishers can use to output speedy, lightweight pages for visitors that load in a second or two, rather than making them wait around.

The Next Web is a launch partner of AMP and our news is showing in results for some searches — if an accelerated page will display a lightning bolt symbol next to ‘AMP.’ That indicates you’ll see a lightweight version of the page if you tap on it.

If you want a super speedy version of the news, watch out for the lightning symbol in results as more news companies adopt the standard. When you tap those, you’ll know that it’ll load faster than any other results on the page.
