Google is opening a Campus in South Korea to ‘supercharge’ the startup scene in Seoul

Google is opening a Campus in South Korea to ‘supercharge’ the startup scene in Seoul

Google is launching its first Campus in Asia, after the search giant announced plans to bring the entrepreneur and startup-focused initiative to Seoul, South Korea.

“Korean innovators and entrepreneurs are some of the best in Asia and Korean startups are making headlines around the world, especially in the mobile space,” said Google exec Bridgette Beam in a post on the company’s Asia Pacific blog.

So what can those in Seoul expect from the Campus?

The program — which has bases in London, Tel Aviv, and beyond — is designed to let the local startup ecosystem tap into the experience, resources and support that Google’s local and global teams can offer. The Korean location will offer be exchanges with other campuses, and a series of programs focused on topics like motherhood and startups, CampusEDU, mentoring with Googlers, and more.

Put simply, in the words of Beam, Google hopes “that Campus Seoul will supercharge tech entrepreneurs, strengthen the startup ecosystem and encourage even more innovation in Korea.”
