Freelancer.com’s job marketplace has launched in Mexico as Freelancer.mx, FayerWayer reports. The Australian company had already released a Spanish language version last July, which it rolled out in Argentina and Chile over the last few months.
Freelancer’s CEO Matt Barrie had already expressed interest in Latin America in an interview he gave to TNW last April. “Latin America is definitely on our radar,” he said at the time, while announcing the upcoming translation of the site.
According to the company’s regional director for Latin America, Sebastián Siseles, Mexico represents an interesting opportunity for Freelancer: “The Mexican market is key for us, not only because of its characteristics, but also because of the boom of creative industries in the countries, and its vibrant startup atmosphere,” he said.
