In order to get more people signing up and paying for its Premium plans, Evernote has a simple strategy; give users free access for a limited period, and then watch as they fall in love with it.
To that end, the company announced a new partnership with Spanish carrier Movistar today, which will see the paid-for version of its cross-platform note-taking service offered to subscribers for free over the next 12 months.
To activate an annual subscription, users need to head to this webpage and submit both their mobile number and password for Movistar’s mobile services. Evernote struck similar deals with Deutsche Telekom in Germany and Vivo in Brazil earlier this year.
