If you are a Dropbox user, you are acutely aware of the number of content links that your friends, family, and coworkers will send you. It can become confusing. Happily,Dropbox has released a new feature today that will track what content you have visited via shared links.
Now, you can keep close tabs on just what you have seen, either for proof – I did see that – or simply to help you track what you have seen and resurface the same bits of Internet. Via the company, here’s what you can expect in practice:
Dropbox is a competitor in the cloud storage and file syncing business. It’s opponents, Google Drive, Microsoft’s SkyDrive, Box, and others, compete with it for market share in a growing consumer and enterprise niche. Its success is component to the larger trend towards cloud computing storage.
The company is widely tipped to be heading towards a public offering in the next year.
Today’s feature bump is a decent upgrade to its interface. However, Dropbox has a stronger focus on integrating with partner companies and apps. That said, if you do use Dropbox, the new capability is a boon.
