Welcome to CHEAP, our series about things that are good, but most of all, cheap. CHEAP!
We’re big fans of board games here at TNW. As much as we love technology (and we truly do), sometimes there’s nothing better than unplugging, sitting back, and playing some games with friends.
Well, that’s got a whole lot easier today. Yes, the terrific board game Pandemic has a full 27 percent off its retail price – making the whole thing a wonderfully reasonable (some might even say CHEAP) $29.38.
Now, if you already know Pandemic, you’re aware that is a great deal (it normally retails for $40). So you should probably buy it and add it your collection. But if you don’t know the game? You’re in for a treat.
In basic terms, your goal in Pandemic is to stop the spread of diseases, then eradicate them. You play as a specific disease-control expert (like a medic or scientist), each of which has a special talent. You then travel across the world in an attempt to stamp-out a range of infections. That premise by itself is pretty awesome, right?
The thing I adore most about Pandemic though is that it’s a co-op title. While competitiveness is a core part of board gaming, there are plenty of times I’d rather work with my friends, rather than attempting to ruthlessly crush them. Yes, there are few things better than gloating over the curled up, crying body of a loved one, but sometimes I just wanna relax a bit, y’know?
A session of Pandemic takes about an hour and the rules are really easy to pick up. Plus, it’s a boatload of fun – it’s one of those games I keep coming back to.
So, whether you’ve never heard of Pandemic before, have been waiting to give it a try, or just want to expand your board game collection, now’s the ideal time to pick up this brilliant game. Grab it here for only $29.38 – let the games begin.
