Steve Jobs just announced that Apple has paid out over one billion (yes, with a “b”) dollars to their app developers since the App Store launched.

Since developers receive 70% of app revenues, the total market for sold apps from the App Store must be a little shy of $1.5 billion.

The other major stat that Jobs mentioned regarding the App Store was that users have downloaded over 5 billion apps.
