Adobe launches its first Creative Cloud mobile apps on Android

Adobe launches its first Creative Cloud mobile apps on Android

Following much clamor on the part of Android users — and keeping its promise — Adobe has launched four Creative Cloud apps on the Google Play store.

In addition to Photoshop Mix, Adobe’s so-called “capture apps”  — Color CC, Brush CC and Shape CC — formerly only on iOS, are now out for Android.

Whether on iOS or Android, these apps are part of Adobe’s mobile strategy to offer discrete functions rather than a single all encompassing Photoshop-type app. This keeps operations focused and simple, tailored to people who need to zero in on a particular function.

Mix combines images, changes colors and otherwise enhances photos, letting you share composites with friends through social networks and send photos to the desktop Photoshop CC for further work.

Shape CC lets you capture and convert images into vector graphics for use in Adobe Illustrator CC or Adobe Photoshop CC.

You can use Brush CC to convert photos or graphics into unique brushes for use in Adobe Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC. Color CC lets you sample colors in a scene to create themes for use in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

In addition, Adobe is releasing Hue CC to its stable of iOS apps, letting you create custom filters and looks for Adobe’s video apps, Premiere Pro, Premiere Clip and After Effects CC.

Preview CC, also available now, lets you preview your designs on multiple iOS devices.
