24me, a mobile smart assistant for tracking chores, tasks, schedules and more, has been updated today to bring a visual refresh and new features such as a desktop widget for iOS 8 devices and calendar-linked note-taking capabilities. The release also marks availability of the app for Android devices for the first time.
On the iPhone, the new widget gives a quick overview of all your events, tasks and notes and will provide you with information and notifications about anything scheduled for each day. The update also allows you to complete your to-do lists directly from the ‘Today’ screen.
Although iOS 8 isn’t quite rolling out to the general public just yet, if you’re running the beta release you can check out the new widget now. Everyone else will just have to wait until Apple is ready to make its new mobile OS available more widely – which is likely to be before the end of the month, based on previous releases.
In addition to the widget, version 3.0 also brings Smart Notes, which allow you to quickly jot down notes and embed photos and videos. The notes are then automatically integrated into 24me’s calendar, making them easily actionable.
Rounding off the list of updates is the launch of the first public beta for Android devices, which has taken its sweet time to arrive, given that the first iOS version launched back in October 2012.
However, while it’s now here, it’s not quite on-par with the iOS version just yet, and has a comparatively limited feature set. 24me’s co-founder Liat Mordechay said the company was working hard to bring it up to scratch, though.
