22tracks has a simple goal: to help people discover fresh new music through frequently updated genre-based playlists, curated by multiple experts from different cities across the world.

Today, the startup has launched a redesigned website in collaboration with Microsoft – well, technically Internet Explorer – that’s focused around touch input. It’s based on HTML5 and features a new music control panel that makes it easier to play, pause and scrub through a track using your finger. If you’re accessing the new fully responsive site from a smartphone, tablet, touchscreen PC or laptop, it should feel closer to a native app now.

There’s also a new interactive audio visualizer, which automatically changes to reflect the current track’s rhythm. As part of its tag-team with Microsoft, there’s also the option to download tracks from Xbox Music, the company’s on-demand streaming service and marketplace for digital music.
