While Sony says it sold 2.1 million PlayStation 4 consoles in two weeks, Microsoft isn’t willing to say whether the Xbox One is keeping up with those figures. Instead, the company has shared a bunch of meaningless numbers, such as:
- Over 3 billion zombies killed in “Dead Rising 3.”
- Over 90 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5” – equal to 3,673 trips around the world.
- Over 186 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome.”
- Over 150 million combos in “Killer Instinct.”
The only mildly interesting statistic shared is that gamers have already spent over 50 million hours using the Xbox One for games and entertainment in the last 11 days. The Xbox One launched after the PlayStation 4, albeit in more markets, but there’s no use speculating on which console is winning until we have comparable figures.
