SkyGrid! SkyGrid! Read All About It (Using SkyGrid)!

SkyGrid! SkyGrid! Read All About It (Using SkyGrid)!

If you are an information or news junkie, your iPad has most likely been serious boon to your life. The gadget is a hero at bringing you data, stories, and the latest breaking news from a plethora of sources around the world.

Sometimes, though, you fall behind, and you need to catch back up. That is where SkyGrid for iPad comes into play. The application is a combination of a multi-source news aggregator, and a curation tool to bring the most important current stories to the top. The app and its team comb the internet at all times looking for the biggest breaking stories, which are then sent to you.

The interface is divided into two main panes, the navigation and selection area, and the content portion of the screen. It looks like this:

The <3 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

The left pane is defaulted to the ‘Featured’ tab, which is very useful if you enjoy headline browsing. Here you select a main story topic, which then leads you to a lengthy collection of stories written by various publications on that topic. It’s like Techmeme, but much broader.

If you look at the bottom of the left pane you will see a number of other options that you can use to find other important content. ‘Categories’ breaks down the news into several dozen verticals such as Music, Markets, Economy, etc. SkyGrid also has built-in social network sharing and search capabilities.

Really, this application is a slam-dunk, and best of all, it’s free. What more could we ask for?
