Chronicunlocks circumvents iPhone Activation Lock feature for $150

Chronicunlocks circumvents iPhone Activation Lock feature for $150

Sometimes you forget a password and sometimes that password is the iCloud password associated with your iPhone. Now instead of a smartphone, you have a very expensive glass and metal paperweight. Chronicunlocks has an iCloud Removal Tool service that’ll help you regain control of your phone and it’ll only cost you $150.

Apple’s Activation Lock is supposed to lower the chances of an iPhone (or iPad) being useful to thieves. It’s a second layer of security that ties the device to your iCloud account. As 9to5Mac reports, Activation Lock has helped reduce iPhone thefts. This service disables that second layer of protection.

The first reaction is that this is perfect for thieves. The Chronicunlocks site makes a point to address this concern:

This will remove iCloud Lock for anyone who has a device stuck on it, whether you are locked out of your own unit (and are in a place like Saudi Arabia which has no Apple Store to present invoice), or you bought a unit second hand from a seller who didn’t remove their iCloud login from. We will NOT remove iCloud from a unit in “Lost Mode”, meaning that the login area of the “Activate iPhone” screen has a Message From The Owner place, usually asking to call the number.

So if an iPhone is stolen and the owner activated Find my iPhone and activated Lost iPhone, the company won’t unlock the phone. The service takes one to five days, so it’s not exactly a speedy service and during that time, if a phone is stolen, the owner could enable Lost iPhone.

Chronicunlocks says that this service will be helpful for anyone that’s purchased a second-hand iPhone that’s still tied to an iCloud account. Or you could save $150 and just contact the seller of the phone.
