Twitter rolls out new search results interface on its site

Twitter’s new search results interface is now rolling out to all logged-in users on its site, with a revised design, more emphasis on images and enhanced filtering options.

The refresh, which the company has been testing since April, now highlights important tweets, images and accounts related to your search query.

You can switch between ‘Top’ tweets that come from prominent accounts or have been retweeted a lot, and ‘Live’ tweets that bring you the latest posts from the community.

In addition, you can choose to look up only photos, videos, accounts and news, and save or embed your searches.

The advanced search option — which lets you filter tweets by location, date range and whether they’re positive, negative or asking a question — is still available and remains unchanged.

The new results interface is more than just a fresh coat of paint and is an improvement over the old one when it comes to surfacing important tweets.
