US cable TV network Bravo today announced that it is launching its first connected TV app. It will be available across several platforms, including Samsung Smart TV and Blu-ray Players, Yahoo Widgets and Google TV.

According to Bravo, it was designed as a complement to Bravo programming, and will let fans explore content related to their favorite shows.

The app’s features include social sharing and custom playlists, as well as a gamification layer that includes games and polls. In addition, users can access Bravo’s schedule, episode descriptions and photo galleries.

While the app is free, it is monetized via advertising, which comes in several forms. Besides traditional banners, logos and pre-roll commercials, companies can also partner with Bravo to integrate curated branded content.
