Android apps use a technology called WebView to show HTML content without forcing you to open a browser; think of all those times an app loads a mini-window to ask for permission to link to your Facebook or Twitter account.
In Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google lets users update WebView separately from the core OS. As of today, developers can access a new beta channel to try the newest versions of WebView and provide feedback.
Updates to WebView bring bug fixes, new APIs and updates to the Chromium engine. If you use WebView for your app, signing up for the beta channel can give you a head start for what to expect as the technology develops.
