1Password 5 for OS X is now available with full Yosemite support

Popular password manager 1Password has just hit version 5 on OS X today, the company announced on its blog. The update includes a host of upgrades that should make your experience a bit smoother.

The interface has been redesigned to match Yosemite’s new look, including its stealthy new Dark Mode. In fact, you need Yosemite to even install version 5, so don’t bother downloading if you haven’t upgraded yet.

Additionally, the upgrade allows you to use iCloud to sync with the iOS version of the app, although it will also require that you run iOS 8 on your mobile device. Wi-Fi sync is now in the mix as well.

The upgrade is free for anyone who already owns a license for version 4. If you’re a newcomer to 1Password, the company is running a 30 percent discount for an undisclosed amount of time, bringing the password manager’s price down to $35.
