That’s a wrap! The best of TNW Europe Conference 2014

As The Next Web Conference Europe 2014 draws to a close, we’ve got just enough time to bring you a round up of the most exciting speakers, breakout sessions, and startups from the show this year.

We’d also like to thank everyone who attended for coming along, without you, none of this would be possible.

Kicking off the conference, Duolingo announced co-founder Luis von Ahn announced the Duolingo Test Center, a new standardized language test taken on a smartphone.

Following Duolingo was Google Ventures partner and Digg co-founder Kevin Rose who revealed live on stage that he’d be keen to return to the startup scene, and that giving up power at Digg is one of his regrets.

Print-on-demand photo book platform ReSnap used the conference to launch its re-engineered platform that promises to create a photo book in less than one minute.

Not to be outdone by ReSnap, rival company PastBook, launched its iOS app to make it easy for users to create photo books from their social networks while on the go.

Clearly, you’re a fashionista, so just for you, we launched our new season tees! Don’t hang around though!

Our 10 Boost finalists took to the stage to vie for the top spot, but there could be only one – and that was Pocket Anatomy.

Did you really think we’d run a two-day conference without including a hack battle? Of course not.

The second round of the TNW Tech5 competition with more hopeful startups hoping to go the distance.

Just because we could only pick one winner for the TNW Boost competition, that doesn’t mean the competition wasn’t hard-fought. Here are seven of the most interesting startups that couldn’t quite take home the prize.

Educational startup Labster, specialists in laboratory equipment simulations, took home our 25,000 Euro prize in our Sanoma startup challenge.

Taking home the judge’s prize in our Tech5 competition was MAG Interactive, a fine way to end the conference.
