Pinterest launches a localized version of its social network in the Nordics

Pinterest has added a new version that will be appealing to users in the Nordics. The interest-based social networking company announced that a localized version launched in the region and, thanks to the efforts of Pinners in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, it was translated within a few weeks.

The move to have a Nordic version appears warranted as Pinterest says the number of Pinners in the region has “more than doubled” since the end of last year. It adds to the company’s growing list of localized sites, joining the UK, France, Italy, Sweden, and most recently, Japan. It plans on launching five more countries before the end of this year and says that 10 more are planned in 2014.
