SoundCloud upgrades Google+ support, letting its users embed audio tracks right into their posts

Audio sharing service SoundCloud announced today that it is upgrading its Google+ support making it possible to share audio files directly in posts. This comes months after the company integrated with Google+ when it used Google+ Sign-In where you could just access your account using your Google account.

How it works is that you can take any SoundCloud URL and share it to Google+ just with the tap of a button. A Widget (when enabled) will appear right in your post. Already, artists like Pearl Jam, Snoop Lion, and Armin Van Buuren have started to use this new feature to share new tracks with their fans.

You would think that the new integration ability would work on SoundCloud’s mobile devices since both its iOS and Android apps have Google+ Sign-In support. However, a company spokesperson tells me that embedding only works through the Web.
