With many huge sites shutting down today in opposition of SOPA and PIPA, other sites are taking a less dramatic route, leaving an equally huge impression.
Turntable.fm, the popular social music listening service has taken a really cool approach to getting the word out about its PIPA opposition.
The site has put “Stop PIPA” logos below each of the DJs playing music site-wide:
The site which relies heavily on a database of music that is licensed per play, and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) would certainly cause issues for it moving forward. Since Turntable.fm has interactive chatrooms that are extremely active throughout the day, this move should drum up some conversation about the two proposed acts.

LikeTo be fair, I don't use the internet for music, mainly just for playing around on Facebook Rounds (http://apps.facebook.com/chatrounds/conv/?publisherid=elena&campaignid=BC&bannerid=0 ) but nevertheless PIPA would affect me a lot!

Likegoogle jus went black - although the engine is still running. it would have been nice if they went totally black. imagine a world without google. i thought they'd show their support for the protest on youtube, but nothing ... so far. it took google.com about 12 hours to cover their asses.
